Face ID
Will Face ID still work after a screen replacement?
Face ID is paired to your iPhone’s original TrueDepth sensor assembly — not to the screen itself. A replacement screen keeps Face ID working if the original sensor assembly is transferred across to the new screen.
A screen fitted without that transfer cannot restore Face ID — and no repair shop can re-pair a different sensor to your phone.

True Tone
Does True Tone survive a screen replacement?
True Tone calibration data lives on a small chip bonded to the original display. An aftermarket screen loses True Tone unless that data is transferred across with dedicated programming hardware.
Everything else about the display still works — True Tone is the automatic white-balance adjustment, not the screen itself.

Water resistance
Is an iPhone still water-resistant after a repair?
Apple’s IP rating applies to a factory-sealed phone. Opening an iPhone — for any repair, at any shop — breaks that original seal.
New adhesive restores splash resistance, but no repair anywhere restores a certified IP68 rating. Treat any opened iPhone as splash-resistant, not waterproof.
